Momentum
Jan16I’ve been hearing the word passed around a lot over the past week with regards to the special election for U.S. Senate in MA.
Momentum.
I’ve been involved in a lot of campaigns over the years. Statewide and local. But I’ve never seen the kind of on-the-ground momentum we’re seeing here in MA.
This morning Steve Foley and I began our day at a rally for Scott Brown in Quincy, MA. On our drive down, we passed tons of sign holding patriots, and on arrival at the Library, we saw what looked like the beginning few minutes of a tea party.
Folks were marching the sidewalks with Brown signs, anti-tax signs and general liberty minded “give us a break” signs. The crowd was at about 100 or so when we arrived, and within an hour had swelled to what looked to be about 1,000 or so patriots.
Scott Brown arrived and gave a pretty good speech. And one that was well received by the restless and excited crowd.
We then drove to Plymouth, where hundreds of folks were gathered outside of the Brown campaign office. Brown hopped into the back of a pickup truck to deliver another solid speech aimed at gearing the crowd up for the final few days of the campaign.
After that, we drove down to Hyannis in Cape Cod. We passed a plethora of Brown signs on overpasses, manned by patriots hanging on fences and cheering their candidate on.
We’ve certainly seen Coakley supporters and signs, but they’re few and far between, and the energy doesn’t compare.
We’re currently in Cape Cod waiting for Brown to arrive for a bit of music and handshaking. A great Cape Cod pub called Tommy Doyle’s has opened up a back room and the place is filling up with folks ready to rally.
Steve and I shot a lot of video, but we’re having some issues with uploads and the data connections aren’t great. We’ll try to get the video up as soon as possible.
My general feel right now is that momentum across the state is in the direction of Scott Brown. People are excited, in campaign mode and hungry for a new direction.
We’ll post throughout the next few days, so keep an eye out for our updates.

January 16, 2010 at 1:49 pmCould you comment on if you are:
1. Seeing many union thugs around
2. Does Scott have a lot of people covering the voting machines since it is all over the internet how easily the machines being used can be hacked
3. Is anyone forming a game plan post election to get Scott seated if the Dems try to stall
Thanks.
Gr8t reporting GO SCOTT!

Today I saw some pictures of SEIU employees carrying brown signs that supported Brown and said they were being paid $50. to carry them either. From an article the other day, I understand the FOP is also backing Brown. I think this is far bigger than just a political race. This is people who are fed up with what has been going on in Washington for the last year while our economy is in the tank and no one seems to care. I think it is just wonderful and am so glad for these folks. I wish we could all vote out the folks that are destroying our country and not listening to the people they represent.

January 17, 2010 at 6:39 pmExcuse me the SEIU people had signs saying they were NOT being paid $50.00 to carry their Brown signs. They support Brown and want him to be their senator.

Please do keep us up to date. I live in Texas and donated to the Brown campaign. Hopefully we were able to have some impact.
