Yesterday, Ali Akbar reported that Scozzafava had not endorsed Owens, when in reality… she had. While I wish we could get every single post as accurate as possible, that’s extremely difficult when you’re having to drive three hours between towns and have no cell phone or wireless service for the duration of the journey.

Our guys on the ground simply couldn’t talk to the right people when they needed to. And for that we apologize.

As everyone now knows, Dede Scozzafava did indeed endorse Bill Owens. For me, this is a big “told you so” moment.

For the past week, many of my friends who work within the Republican Party have asked that I try and be a little more friendly to Scozzafava in what I write. They claimed she was clean at heart, even if some of her positions were off the conservative grid.

Even many within the liberty movement called for us to thank Scozzafava after she officially dropped out of the race. Some tea party activists called her the “prodigal son,” claiming she did what was right.

In my opinion, however, they were all wrong. In my opinion, Dede Scozzafava represents everything that is wrong with the Republican Party.

First, Dede didn’t drop out of the race because it was the right thing to do. She dropped out because it was the only thing to do.

Think about it. On Friday, the Scozzafava campaign got word that the NRCC was pulling out their entire operation. Well, at least they were no longer working with the Scozzafava campaign. Considering the fact that the NRCC essentially was the Scozzafava campaign, this suggest she lost the majority of her operation within a day.

Then, on Saturday, not more than five minutes after Siena Research Institutes polls results were announced, Dede dropped out of the race.

Do you see the timeline here? She didn’t have a choice.

I knew this all along. I don’t know why so many others failed to see it.

Yesterday I had to leave New York because I’m scheduled to speak a few times here at the State Policy Network conference in North Carolina. I was traveling all day, so I missed most of the action, but I was able to watch Twitter off and on throughout the day and was aware of what was going on.

Let me say this to my friends in the party… Dede Scozzafava was always a fake. She never represented the principles your party stands for. She never was a good Republican, and she never once lived up to her claims of being one.

Scozzafava was in bed with the enemy. Her connections to ACORN, socialists, unions and other anti-American groups should speak volumes about her as a representative.

These connections are not at all secret. Newt Gingrich, Steele, Sessions… all knew it yet stood their ground and didn’t let up until just a day or two ago.

My point here is, the Scozzafava endorsement of liberal Democrat Bill Owens should make it clear that the Republican Party has been poisoned. The poison doesn’t just exist in NY23. No, it exists all over the country. These thugs are running as Republicans from coast to coast, and the powers that be refuse to rebuke them.

Which is exactly why the liberty movement is rebuking the powers that be.
