SHOCKER: Business prefers smaller government in NJ

Nov3

After reading the news about the New Jersey Restaurant Association’s endorsement of Chris Christie, I have to wonder how big this battle of business vs. government is going to get.

“The New Jersey Restaurant Association is endorsing Chris Christie for Governor because his record of achievement as US Attorney proves he can get the job done. He is committed to making New Jersey a competitive, affordable place to live, work and create jobs,” it was announced today by Deborah Dowell, President, New Jersey Restaurant Association. “Our industry has watched our customers and businesses flee the State during the past four years because there is no hope for an affordable future. Mr. Christie’s plan calls for cutting State spending, reducing corporate and income taxes, and reviewing regulations imposed upon businesses and local governments that drive up costs that are passed onto our citizens. This is the type of change we need to create private sector jobs in NJ.

This problem isn’t only happening in New Jersey. If you drive down Lincoln Ave in Chicago, a corridor that just eight months ago was thriving with businesses and busy store windows, you’ll now find vacant storefronts on every block.

Illinois, California, New Jersey, Michigan… what do they all have in common? Nanny-state, over-regulated liberal policy and big government.

The battle between business and government looks to be heating up and fast. Elected officials should take note and be aware that it’s not just regular American voters who have had it… it’s the entire economic machine.
