Owens Campaign and Liberal Operatives Trying to Confuse DeDe Supporters
Nov1Ali Akbar and our good friend Robert Stacy McCain are on the road today in NY-23 investigating a story in the Watertown Daily Times that’s claiming Scozzafava is quietly telling her supporters to vote for Democrat Bill Owens. 73wire’s first inclination was to verify this claim as it wasn’t sitting well with what we’re hearing here on the ground.
Our offical postition is to call this story bogus… the fact is, the Watertown Daily Times has officially endorsed Bill Owens and 73wire believes the following quote from the piece, “During the day Saturday, she began to quietly and thoughtfully encourage her supporters to vote for Democrat William L. Owens”, is a strategically placed piece of fiction designed to deliberately confuse Ms. Scozzafava’s supporters and move the narrative off of Bill Owens and back onto splitting opinion between Hoffman and Scozzafava.
The Other McCain is reporting that according to Kerry Picket of The Washington Times Ms. Scozzafava has yet to make any endorsements or make a statement on this report
Former Scozzafava campaign spokesman Matt Burns seems to distance himself from Ms. Scozzafava’s latest reported actions. He sent the Washington Times Water Coooler the following statement:
“As of yesterday, I am no longer affiliated with the campaign. Dede knows the most about the district and would have represented it well in Congress, but I am not familiar with her current thinking or decision-making.” . . .
Ms. Scozzafava has yet to release a statement on the Watertown report.
Stay tuned to 73wire as we bring you more on this story as it develops
Update 1:19pm from Ali: I talked to Kerry Picket of the Washington Times. Her sources confirm my initial skepticism and analysis. Voters vote like voters. Dede didn’t endorse Owens and the progressive labor-lite voters that were supporting her – naturally went to Owens. I’m now headed to Watertown with Robert Stacy McCain to meet Dave Weigel (Washington Independent) and Kerry.
Update from Ali: It’s been a wild and crazy day. Dede ended up endorsing Owens. There was a lot more that went into this than you’d realize and it was very last minute. – This came as a surprise to senior staff and those close to her here in Watertown. This was labor, media, and the Democrat establishment driven. Watch for articles surrounding the selling of her soul.

November 1, 2009 at 12:25 pmThis is really great news. Maybe their is hope to turn the country around. I just want to know why no one is talking about the United Nations Agenda 21 otherwise known as Sustainable Development. That is the most insidious agenda I’ve ever seen.

A cat is a cat and a dog is a dog. If the dog doesn’t deny being a cat – that doesn’t make him a cat.

November 1, 2009 at 3:49 pmooops. Seems like the white supremacist McCain, and his friends ’round here are the ones doing the decieving.
“Since announcing the suspension of my campaign, I have thought long and hard about what is best for the people of this District, and how to answer your questions. This is not a decision that I have made lightly.
…
It is in this spirit that I am writing to let you know I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same. “

November 1, 2009 at 8:33 pmIt looks like Dede is actually endorsing Owens.
Goes to show she was nothing more than a liberal Democrat acting as a Republican in the race.
