NRCC sending campaign ground troops to NY23
Oct27Not only is the NRCC pumping hundreds of thousands of dollars into the media campaign of Dede Scozzafava, they’re also organizing and coordinating teams of GOTV volunteers in the district. And they’re picking up the tab.
Our team just finished meeting with a NRCC volunteer named “James” who works out of the Watertown office for the Scozzafava campaign. James informed us that he was sent to Watertown, NY from Washington D.C. as a volunteer for the NRCC. We asked about expenses, and he said the NRCC was paying for everything.
We had a great chat with James and learned that a good portion of the Scozzafava campaign volunteers were indeed brought in from outside of the district.
Ironically, James claimed a few minutes earlier that one of the reasons he was so passionate about the Scozzafava campaign is that Hoffman was receiving so much support from outside the district. Seems odd that in an individual from outside the district is complaining about help coming from outside the district.
At this point, there should be no doubt that the NRCC is going to do whatever they possibly can to help beat Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Candidate in the race.
As a side note, we found it interesting that James seemed to take a little pride in the Scozzafava card check stance. We didn’t even bring the issue up… James volunteered his opinion on the matter and told us that he believed the NRCC was comfortable with her position because the previous Congressman supported it as well.
Food for thought…

October 27, 2009 at 4:03 pmRather than running ads AGAINST a conservative, why don’t the Republicans run ads against the Democrats?
They are showing their true colors, and get everything they deserve. Yes, Mr. Gingrich – conservatism is on the ascent, which is why you are on the descent.

October 27, 2009 at 4:25 pmAnd these are the people who, along with Newt Gingrich, tell the rest of the country to stay out of NY23???
I believe, if the NRCC tries to go dirty, it will backfire on them badly. If they want to be Demlite, why not just become full fledged Democrats and be done with it?

October 27, 2009 at 5:14 pmThis is precisely why I take the NRCC and NRSC unsolicited mailings for money and send them written letters of NON-SUPPORT back in their own pre-paid envelopes. The GOP is lame and needs to be defeated as well. We need to vett candidates based on where they stand with the issues and core values. Those values are lower taxes, less government, strong defense, education reform, INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM and LIBERTY. I dont care what the letter after their name is. Gingrich and the other washingtonians who endorsed this liberal republican are flat WRONG on this one. Its time we show them that we will support who is BEST for this COUNTRY based on founding principles…PERIOD…..
This notion that we will keep sending CAREER politicians back time and time again should stop.

October 27, 2009 at 8:04 pmI believe that Mr. Gingrich is wrong, as is the NRCC/GOP, in continuing their support of Dede Sozzafava, an individual that has proven to be nothing more than a Liberal/progressive running as a Republican. I have been a Republican my entire life, participated in surveys, donated money, and placed signs on my vehicles and in my yard. No longer will I tow that line. I have voiced my opinions and thoughts to my Senators and Representatives, both (R) and (D), over the years and I find it hard to continue as a Republican while the “conservative” party is only looking for those that will tow the party line no do work of the “PEOPLE”. This is particularly true of my elected representatives that have been Republicans to steadily vote and support items that are completely against the grain of the Republican Party platform. I’m of the mind that Mr. Gingrich is considering a run in 2012, well if he wants to get the pulse of his grassroots base; it’s not looking good for him. I know, I am so far in the grass I can’t see over the shortest blade. I truly believe that the two major political partly have become nothing more than unions for politicians. That being said, I will no longer support or vote for Republican candidates when there is a viable alterative. And when there is no alternative I will not vote. Whenever possible, I will actually go out of my way to look for and support third party candidates that support the Republican platform more than Republicans do.

October 27, 2009 at 9:11 pmNewt and NRCC know who the threat to the Republican party is. It’s not the Democrats. They love the Republican Party just the way it is: weak, liberal and wishy-washy. What Newt and the “elites” in the Party fear is that Conservatives will take back the party and drive the RINOs out.

October 29, 2009 at 12:14 pmWhat the NRCC should do since it’s obvious that Dede Sozzafava can not win, is to ask her to drop out and throw her support to Doug Hoffman. It was always customary in New York for the Republican and Conservative parties to run the same candidate on both lines.

October 29, 2009 at 1:14 pmIt is the media’s job to inform the public of what’s important, a job that they are not doing. So I propose that we FILIBUSTER the media outlets, locally and nationally, until they start doing their job. I suggest that people call people they know in the states that have problem politicians to inform them why they should not vote for them. I hope that the Tea Party members will post phone numbers the of problem media outlets & what they are not reporting so that Tea Party members can FILIBUSTER them.

October 29, 2009 at 2:17 pmIt seems to me that by focusing their ire against the liberal Democrat in the race, the GOP has a win-win opportunity. If their guy does lose to Hoffma, they still have a reliable conservative to caucus with. Who cares if they don’t put one of their team on the board, so long as conservative (and by extension) Republican interests are served. It seems to me that GOP has two candidates in this race, and either one winning out over the liberal opponent is clearly a victory. Both party’s want Hoffman to fail because of the message it will send if he were to win. That message being that voters can still identify and support candidates, and vote their conscience as well. If Hoffman wins, this will mark the beginning of the end of politics as we’ve come to know it, and a return to the premise of the will of the people as guidance in our governance, and a return to citizen/legislators as our founding fathers envisioned. If I were a DNC or RNC leader, I’d be quaking in my boots at the prospect of America’s citizens taking back control of the government.

October 29, 2009 at 4:52 pmI am a lifelong Republican and have had family members on Republican Presidential staff in the past plus other state level party involvement. I am thoroughly disgusted with the GOP, especially in this Dist 23 race. I am all for the party being inclusive, but that should not apply to actually supporting a person who is effectively a liberal democrat. This is ridiculous! The GOP will see no financial support from me until it gets back to basic “Reagan” conservative principles.

October 30, 2009 at 6:09 amYou can see the “sock puppets” on the local message boards in our district. The RNC failed to give them maps as well as principles. “Down to Watertown” when it’s north and refering to the tax situation in Fulton, thinking they are talking about the town rather than the County of Fulton which is in the south of the district. They are buffoons and Hoffman is going to make them all look stupid.

November 1, 2009 at 5:37 amWe also received a survey from the Republican party. I filled it in with notes so much there wasn’t much blank space left on it. My notes expanded on questions they asked and my responses were to let them know that we would not support the Republican party until they got back to supporting our Constitution. We will never vote democratic and, until they get in line w/us, republicans are out as well. They don’t get it yet! I say “Listen to what the people are telling you or regret it”. November 2, 2009 at 12:35 amI am so proud that true conservatives are putting principles ahead of party, as exemplified in the Doug Hoffman campaign.
But my hope is tempered by the fact that many conservatives still have their children in government schools, where the next generation is being brainwashed to reject the ageless values of limited government, inalienable (God-given) rights, sanctity of life, property rights, free market capitalism, and natural law. Until conservatives, and especially Christian conservatives, wake up and realize that the government schools are wrecking our nation and destroying the souls of our children, and that the best way to preserve our nation, our liberty, our prosperity, and the souls of our children is to GET OUR KIDS OUT of these government indoctrination centers.
