NRCC Pulling Out of NY-23?

NRCC Pulling Out of NY-23?

That’s exactly what I’m hearing, while the campaign is denying the claim, calling it “False.”

I’m hearing that the NRCC is pulling out of NY-23. It’s coming from a credible source familiar with the operation inside of the beltway Committee.

That being said I just reached out to Matthew Burns, Spokesman for the Scozzafava campaign, who denied this claim. He said it was “False.” Protecting the candidate or categorically true – we’ll let this flesh itself out in the public.

I’ll also avoid giving you the analysis of what this could mean for now. Look for links in the comments.

UPDATE: I’m on the ground and I have personal confirmation from an additional, credible source that the NRCC is indeed pulling back its operation here in New York’s 23rd Congressional district special election

This public spanking the voters of NY-23 is giving the RNCC could do the party some good. Perhaps a clear Conservative victory in that district will convince the national party to respect the American people, and reacquaint them with the base.

    IT COULD HAPPEN!

Or it could just mean more years of defeat for the Republican Party.

This country could use several more years of defeat for BOTH parties. The two are all but indistinguishable the majority of the time anyway. Here’s to a renewed spirit of Liberty!

The republican party needs to rid itself of NON-CONSERVATIVES once and for all… We should establish core principles such as LIMITED GOVERNMENT, BALANCED BUDGETS etc.. and STOP apologizing for it….They get defeated because they are no different than liberals most of the time… we need strong conservatives to stand up and call a spade a spade. if they are republicans so be it…. this isnt a high school debate… if liberals are wrong (which they are and have been for 45 years) we need to stand up EACH and EVERY time and call them on it publically… let them whine and moan… we dont elect our representatives to “get along” and “reach across the aisle”…BS… we elect them to stand with the Constitution… Period…I support Doug Hoffman and Sarah Palin… true conservatives…

    HOORAY for the good guys.
Don’t want to be too optimistic but is the tide finally starting to turn?

Let’s be fair…this situation has not been good for the Republicans, but if we hope to gain anything for our movement, we could not let this stand. I think we have come a long way to have some top Republicans come out and stand on principal rather than party. Let’s pray Hoffman wins this round!!!

This whole affair shows several things:
    (1) Shows the lie conservatives have been buying that third parties can’t win. If leaders would stop compromising their principles, and lead efforts like this, they can win.

    (2) Confirms yet again that the GOP leadership hates conservatives more than Democrats, and will never give up control to the conservatives. They would rather lose than see conservatives win. Every minute and dollar put into the GOP ultimately supports that leadership and ensures liberal control. The danger here is that the leadership will decide they have to throw conservatives a few more bones to keep them in line–and many will fall for that.

Scozzafava should, in the name of party unity, concede defeat and throw her support to Hoffman.

I see liberals constantly cheering the possible fracture in the GOP. Why? The don’t get it. While they would rather win an election than have their ideals stood-for, conservatives are taking a stand. If we have to lose a seat or 10 in Congress to slowly turn the tide of corruption we will. If the liberals felt the same way we could all change Washington. Instead, we will eventually get the candidates we want representing us and libs will have the same old special-interest-loving hacks they’ve always had.

The difference – we’re willing to sacrifice an election to do what’s right, they are willing to sacrifice what’s right to get elected.

Finally! We need someone who will hold Obama’s feet to the fire. Why won’t you show a birth certificate, BO? Why should we consider you President when you haven’t shown you legally are? Hoffman will ask the tough questions.

Let’s get off the BO birth certificate thing. It’s not going to happen, bringing it up makes people in the GOP sound like the same DEM whiners who never accepted the outcome in 2000. Hoffman being elected would be great, but the convictions of individuals means very little if they aren’t getting out the vote. Vote, and convince your friends to vote. Don’t take it for granted. Owens has a lot of union and DNC money behind him, it’s tough to get any Republican elected in NY.
