Ft Hood and twitter

Nov5

twitterAs many of you know, there was a shooting at Fort Hood today. And I am sure most of you watched the news, such as Fox News, MSNBC or CNN. But I was at work with no TV, not video access on my computer and a radio that only gets the R&B and the Rock channels. So I had to use the internet for my news, as I always do. I am always on Tweetdeck, a desktop twitter application. And I followed the whole story on there.

And the Stateman, a local Texas news paper’s blog (The Austin American Stateman), had a great idea to make it easy to follow the story. They made the twitter name @FtHoodShootings. This made it easier to follow what was going on the ground at Ft Hood.

Bravo Bravo for an innovative way to get the story out to those without a TV or radio near by.

And if you want to find me on twitter, my twitter name is stix1972
