Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), Radio host and author Mark Levin, and actor Jon Voight are scheduled to speak, after which the activists plan to flood into Congressional office buildings to lobby members of Congress in person.

Michelle Malkin tweets:

Hey, Nancy! Look out the window. You can see hlthcare protesters from your House: http://is.gd/4O25C #housecall

JimDeMint tweets:

walking to rally with thousands of Americans at Capitol steps, here to tell Congress to stop the government takeover of healthcare

U.S. CAPITOL WEST STEPS – Last Thursday a call went out from talk radio to conservatives to gather today, at noon, for a press conference on Obamacare.

Over 10,000 people have shown up so far to raise their concerns about the health care discussions currently under way. We are halfway in the middle of the crowd and can barely see podium with all the signs, people, and flags. These protesters are fired up.

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) opened the event. Followed by an opening prayer, the pledge of allegiance and the anthem. Actors Jon Voight and John Ratzenberger (Cliff from Cheers) have also spoke. Best selling author Mark Levin detailed the problems with the current health care bill, telling the crowd, “Freedom is only one generation from extinction.”

Again, that’s 10,000 people in just seven days.

Unlike Greg Sargent@ The Plum Line, who’d rather mock protesters and spin for Liberals instead of accurately reporting the issues, here at 73wire.com we will always keep you up-to-date and accurately informed.

Nov4

Illinois-based Marathon Pundit wonders whether the strong rebuke of President Obama deliverered by voters in New Jersey and Virginia will have an effect on the U.S. Senate candidacy of Illinois State Senator Kirk Dillard (R).

Dillard co-sponsored ethics legislation with Obama in the Illnois Senate. After working with Obama on the legislation, Dillard made a statement in praise of Obama that was later used in a campaign ad.

But some say Dillard has been slow to distance himself from the President, and while touting his own ability to work with Illinois Democrats. With the mood of Republican voters likely to remain against cooperating with Obama’s policies, Dillard may have a difficult time advancing in the primary or motivating the Republican base in the 2010 general election.

Dillard and several others, including conservative Pat Hughes (R-Hinsdale) and liberal Congressman Mark Kirk (IL-10), will run in the February 2, 2010 primary. The election is to fill the seat being vacated by Sen. Roland Burris (D), who declined to seek reelection.
