The WaPo. Harbinger of intellectual and ethical nihilism.

Posted on July 22, 2010 in: Daily Hits

The WaPo is simply a trash heap. Just like every other landfill in the US, you can find papers with very old news. The difference is that at landfills the papers have been buried for many years under heaps of compacted trash. At the WaPo, the papers bear the current date.

I feel a little like that guy who hosts the TV show Dirty Jobs. Just a couple of days ago I highlighted the crapfest hosted by the WaPo’s Ombudsman over the fact that they ignored the New Black Panther Party/Eric Holder love fest, and then when caught with their hand in the Administration’s pants they crafted the “we were too busy doing important stuff” excuse.

Chris Cillizza sneaking a peek from his WaPo office.

Well, here’s volume two. Chris Cillizza who writes at WaPo’s The Fix, had this headline on July 20 at 7:28am ET: Democrats retake lead in generic ballot.

The story covered Gallup’s new poll results showing a turnaround for Dems in the so-called “generic ballot” question. I’m on record saying that the whole idea of a generic ballot is more-or-less an exercise in mental masturbation and I pay no attention to it. And that’s not what this article is about.

On July 21 at 6:00pm ET, Neil Stevens posted a story at Redstate that showed how Gallup cooked their books by effectively combining two separate polls to produce a desired result. If you look only at the “likely voter” numbers in the Gallup internals guess what? Republicans were ahead. Just like in their June 2 poll and in the Rasmussen polling.

And to further confound things in Mr. Cillizza’s world in the WaPo bubble, yesterday morning I published a story here about the latest QuinPoll that shows Republicans with a generic ballot lead.

Oh, and since I’m pretty sure Cillizza – nobody for that matter at the WaPo – reads either Redstate or 908 Straight St!, Chris still can’t plead ignorance about the facts because of the following comment:

Good Morning Sir, As an African American,
Let me say this , You spoke to soon, Have you seen the new Quinnipiac Poll out today ? Please see this statement-But voters say 43 – 38 percent they would vote for a Republican in a generic Congressional race, Sorry Washingtonpost

Now the question I have for the folk at the WaPo is simple. Are you going to bother to post corrections noting that the Gallup result was a manufactured piece of BS and that QuinPolls matches the recent trends showing Republicans leading on generic ballots?

Somehow, I doubt it.
