The country is in position to go through perhaps one of the largest transformations in the political realm that we’ve seen in many, many years. Democrats face a potential catastrophic range of losses come November. The GOP is being purged of its big government political dynasties.
The Republican Party, while probably uncomfortable over many of its “chosen one” losses in primaries, still stands to enjoy big gains in 2010. That is, provided the Party gets its ducks in a row and fights fire with fire.
Right now, thanks to a well organized, well funded move from the left, Republicans are showing up to a gun fight with a butter knife.
As Anjeanette Damon reports in the Las Vegas Sun this morning, Democrats are running a full scale campaign aimed at recruiting volunteer spies.
Apparently tracking high-profile Republican candidates is a little labor intensive.
So, the Democratic National Committee today is launching a crowd-sourcing exercise to try and catch the next “chicken for checkups” or “Macaca” moment that has brought down Republican candidates in the past.
Calling it the “Accountability Project,” Democrats launched a website to collect volunteer video of Republican campaign events.
The movement has enjoyed some big primary wins this year. But for the most part, we’ve yet to see the full capability of the far left political mechanism in play.
Republicans had better be ready. In fact, Republicans should be thinking offense right now.
Otherwise, conservative candidates will find themselves on defense straight through November.
