Obama and Biden have had a good time travelling trying to convince people that the stimulus money is creating jobs. Aside from the fact that the government’s role is not in creating them, it seems that another piece of reality is coming to light. Regardless of observations Democrats believe that they know what is right and will move out on a plan regardless of what is true.

Nevada, as an example, has reported that stimulus money is far and few between for businesses. The CBO reported that the stimulus has only gone through about a quarter of its total value. Meaning of $700 odd billion dollars only $175 billion has been used. Additionally the bill has actually saved/generated 1.6 million jobs, and apologists will be quick to point out the possibilities if the bill had not been passed citing doom and gloom of depression era devastation. Albeit things could be worst, but then things are bad now. Its very much like President Bush declaring Mission Accomplished while troops were still mired in combat in Afghanistan.

The next myth is pointed out by AP News who studied Infratstructre as the administrations next White Elephant. Ten months into Obama’s economic stimulus plan, spending on roads and bridges has had no effect unemployment. AP News Reports.

AP’s analysis, which was reviewed by independent economists at five universities, showed that strategy hasn’t affected unemployment rates so far. And there’s concern it won’t work the second time. For its analysis, the AP examined the effects of road and bridge spending in communities on local unemployment; it did not try to measure results of the broader aid that also was in the first stimulus like tax cuts, unemployment benefits or money for states.

“My bottom line is, I’d be skeptical about putting too much more money into a second stimulus until we’ve seen broader effects from the first stimulus,” said Aaron Jackson, a Bentley University economist who reviewed AP’s analysis.

Strange, this reinstatement of Keynesian economics! While it never helped any economy, it makes politicians look good.

[...] This can only mean that these body of advisors are really just reading the tea leaves and then conferring with an oracle to come up with their answers. Any business run like this would get a new set of advisors. By citing the $100 billion job bail out package, these same market augurs assume that another stimulus would help when so much has yet to do anything. [...]
