58% Want to Waterboard Flight 253 Terrorist

The Nigerian man who attempted bring Northwest Airlines flight 253 over Detroit would be a very unhappy man in the hands of the American people. A new Rasmussen poll reveals that 58% of Americans are in favor of waterboarding the radical:

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of U.S. voters say waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques should be used to gain information from the terrorist who attempted to bomb an airliner on

Christmas Day.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 30% oppose the use of such techniques, and another 12% are not sure.

Seventy-one percent (71%) of all voters think the attempt by the Nigerian Muslim to blow up the airliner as it landed in Detroit should be investigated by military authorities as a terrorist act. Only 22% say it should be handled by civilian authorities as a criminal act, as is currently the case.

Also according to poll, up 4 points November, 43% believe the US is placing too much importance on individual rights over national security. 17% believe otherwise and 28% see a good balance of the two.

Seventy-nine percent (79%) now think it is likely there will be another terrorist attack in the United States in the next year. That’s a 30-point jump from the end of August when just 49% of Americans felt that way.

These reults may show that when push comes to shove, the American people would prefer to see political correctness go out the window and true defense measures put in place.
