After liberals blasted the last administration for letting national security secrets slip out to the media, the same problem has continued to occur under the new administration. In fact, the slips have been so bad that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has told his officials to “just shut up.”
Gates went on to add that if anyone under his employ is discovered to be a leaker, it “would probably be a career ender.”
The remarks stemmed from the many leaks regarding the options Obama is considering and the ongoing investigations in Fort Hood after 13 were killed. When it comes to Fort Hood, Gates advised it best to leave the investigation to the investigators.
