Its been reported that Republican lawmaker, Debe Scozzafava has resigned from her state legislative leadership position. She ran on the GOP ticket for New York’s 23rd District Congressional House Seat. She was marked as a Liberal republican and was target of conversative activists who grew tired of GOP lawmakers who did not represent Republican or Conservative views. She withdrew from the race and yet supported her Democrat opponent over the independent conservative contender, Doug Hoffman.

In recent days Scozzafava has been critical of conservative and liberty activists who opposed her saying that she was going to work against them.

This may have been from pressure of the GOP. With recent remarks from Michael Steele, where he claimed he would go after republicans that sided with Pelosi and Obama. Fox News Reports that Republican Assembly minority leader Brian Kolb says,

“Fundamentally my members are very disappointed with her endorsement of Bill Owens and aiding him in helping achieve the Nancy Pelosi health care plan in Washington.”
