In a recent interview Debe Scozzafava, whom some would call a Liberal Republican or a RINO (Republican In Name Only), has taken shots at Sara Palin and conservative grassroots. During the New York 23rd District election race Scozzafava was “outted” by activists as being no different then Democrat rival, and later elected, Representative Owens. Activists, lead by Palin, supported Doug Hoffman, who ran onconservative values, but was defeated by a slim margin.
Scoazzafava is critized for later bowing out of the race, though her name remained on the ballot, and supporting her Democrat opposition. She remarked to the Washington Post.
“How can Sarah Palin come out and endorse someone who can’t answer some basic questions?” Scozzafava told the Washington Post. “Do these people even know who they are endorsing?”
In an interview she remarked as saying:
“It was organized,” Scozzafava told the Post about the attacks against her by Palin, other prominent conservative figures, and conservative advocacy groups. “There is a lot of us who consider ourselves Republicans, of the Party of Lincoln. If they don’t want us with them, we’re going to work against them.”
Who she is going after is not exactly clear as RNC Chairman, Micheal Steele, has stated that he would go after Republicans who support Pelosi and Obama initiatives. Initiatives that Doug Hoffman sought to oppose.
