Hassan Tried to Contact Al Qaeda

Nov9

It has become apparent to Intelligence authorities that Major “Nidal” Hassan, who last week open fired on fellow soldiers at Ft Hood, Texas, had tried to contact Al Qaeda.  It has been reported that he tried to contact Anwar al Awlaki, a radical  leader who runs an American web site that promotes jihad.  Lending credence that the attack Hassan performed was religiously motivated, though whether others are connected remains to be seen.

Even as law enforcement and intelligence authorities piece together Hassan’s past doctors and family members are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.    Doctors are trying to understand how someone how served with soldiers can then suddenly turn and kill 13 and wound 30.  Was it Terrorism or illness?
